Bass and double bass player

Marcelo Cordova was born in Chile in 1973 and started to play bass at 18 years old. Soon he was playing in several local groups. In 2000 he played

With Alex Acuna (legendary Weather Report Drummer). He has also played/recorded with Raul Gutierrez Irazú Big band, Amadito Valdes, Jorge Pardo, Marcelo Martins, Paquito de Rivera and Claudio Roditi. In 2002 he decided to move to France to study classical double bass. He lived in Paris for 7 years where he played with various groups in different styles: Jazz, African, Latin, Fusion, Classical, Manouche, Flamenco, and Baroque. In France he has played with Marcia Maria, Mario Canonge, Irving Acao (Irakere's sax player), Coco Rosie, Chinchivi, Jean Baptiste Laya, Dominique di Piazza, Reda Samba, Lukmil Perez Colectivo and his own group with top Parisian musicians.

In 2008 he released his first CD   “Viajes”, with Chilean and Latin

Rhythms, mixed with world music influence.

In 2009, back in Chile he starts to be requested in several groups as a session musician, he is on more than 30 albums.

In 2011-2012 he performs with Jorge Pardo (Paco de Lucia flute player) and Marcelo Martins (Djavan´s sax player) after that, he invites them to record his second solo album TOC! .

He also has released 2 albums with his acoustic trio Simetrío and recently he released an electronica-jazz album with his group CZDUO, released in vinyl only.

He plays EBS amps and Pavel basses.
